Amanda S. Davison, CEO
Amanda S. Davison is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She graduated from the University of Phoenix with a Masters in Counseling specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is currently serving as a practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients as well as the CEO of The Family Connection LLC. Among her areas of expertise are Couples, Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and assisting people with a variety of concerns including Depression, Anxiety, Personality Disorders, Autism Spectrum and Trauma.
Amanda is an interactive, Experiential Family Therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges and to help them become who they were meant to be. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.
Sandra Rivera, LMFT
Albuquerque Clinical Director
Sandra is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She obtained her Master’s Degree from the University of Phoenix in Counseling specializing in Marriage and Family, Child Therapy. Sandra has a background in crisis intervention with children and adolescents. Her special areas of interest include: depression, anxiety, trauma, family, addiction and legal issues. Sandra provides individual, couple, family therapy for children, adolescents, and adults using a family systems perspective.
Nathan Interial, LMHC
Nathan is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, he received a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. Nathan has experience working with couples, individuals, and children. His special areas of interest include PTSD and trauma, depression, marital issues, anxiety, and substance abuse.
Tessa Lucero, LMHC
Tessa is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She received a Masters of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from New Mexico Highlands University. She is passionate about her work with children and teenagers. Tessa provides individual counseling to children, teenagers and adults. Her areas of special interest include: play therapy, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and behavioral issues. She serves each client with compassion and acceptance.
Aaron Powell, LCSW
Aaron is a Clinical Social Worker and a longtime Albuquerque/Corrales resident. He has extensive experience working with children and with individuals with anger management and anger-control problems. Prior to coming to The Family Connection, Aaron worked in the public schools, as a School Social Worker. Aaron is very passionate about child welfare. Aaron has experience working with individuals with anxiety, depression, and substance abuse issues. He is a Humanist who believes in the healing power of unconditional positive regard, which correlates directly to a large part of his religion. Aaron also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, DBT skills, and play-therapy, depending on the developmental age and needs of the individual client. As a very compassionate individual, Aaron believes in people, and he is dedicated to helping his clients achieve their utmost potential.
Chris Mayton, LMSW
Chris is a native New Mexican, providing services in the Albuquerque, Rio Rancho area since 1980. She obtained both of her degrees from New Mexico Institutions; New Mexico State and New Mexico Highlands University. She is a licensed Master Level Social Worker. Her special interests include: addiction, depression, anxiety, and problematical relationships. Chris is committed to assisting clients to improve the quality of their lives by affecting meaningful change.
Natasha Moharter, LMHC
Natasha is a native New Mexican and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She graduated from the University of New Mexico with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and her Master of Arts in Counseling. During her time as a graduate student, Natasha was selected by the National Board for Certified Counselors to be a scholar in their Minority Fellowship Program. She also served from 2013-2014 as President and President-Elect of the UNM Chapter of Chi Sigma Iota, the International Honor Society for Counselors & Counselor Educators.
Natasha utilizes a Client-Centered therapeutic approach, and she encourages clients to be active in their treatment while she provides additional support. Natasha also believes in meeting her clients where they are in their life; and developing with them realistic, healthy, and intentional goals for whatever situations they may be facing. Additionally, Natasha works from a strength-based perspective in order to encourage resiliency in clients so that they may continue to thrive once therapy has terminated.
Kassandra Williams, LAMFT
Kassandra Williams is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist. She received her Master’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences, with a focus on Marriage and Family Therapy, from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Kassandra realized after earning a degree in Education that she would like to support families in a larger capacity. Kassandra enjoys working with individuals, couples, families and children. Her areas of special interest include: relationships, communication, attachment, and parenting. Kassandra is passionate about helping people heal by using a systems approach to counseling.
Susannah Dourmashkin, LMHC
Susannah Dourmashkin is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC). She received her Masters of Science in Counseling from Prescott College with a specialization in clinical mental health counseling. Her mission is to encourage and support wellbeing, strength, and resilience in her clients and community through compassionate and creative individual, couple, and family counseling. Susannah’s areas of special interest include relationships, trauma, and sexuality.
